Pedal Power
Pedal Power at Marcy Arts Magnet School
What is Pedal Power
Pedal Power is a beloved program at Marcy Arts Magnet School that brings learning and movement together—on two wheels! During the school day, students gear up for 45-minute bike rides through the neighborhood, building confidence, physical endurance, and real-world biking skills in a safe and supportive environment. It's one of the many ways we integrate wellness, independence, and fun into our students' school experience.
With support from classroom teachers, staff, and volunteers, Pedal Power helps kids master biking as a lifelong skill—while exploring our community and enjoying the outdoors with their peers.
Why We Need Volunteers
To keep this popular program running at full capacity, we’re calling on Marcy parents, caregivers, and community members to step in as ride-along volunteers.
If you have flexibility in your schedule—even just once a month—we’d love your help. This is a great opportunity to:
-
Spend meaningful time with your child during the school day
-
Get to know their classmates and teachers
-
Support students in gaining essential biking skills
-
Be part of a joyful and active school tradition
